Making Friends

Dora, Celia, and Viva missed out on their outing a few weeks ago due to the rain, and this week was finally their turn. Scone was supposed to come too but this lucky boy is already off at a trial adoption so Pip came with us instead. (Update: Scone’s adoption has been confirmed! πŸ˜€ )

Dora is such a dainty little lady, who loves snuggling in the car and showing off her handshake for a treat. She takes a little while to warm up to strangers, but was surprisingly calm at the park and quickly became friends with those who had food πŸ˜› She even had a bit of fun with Viva, as you can see in our Facebook video.

Isn’t it funny how sometimes you just “click” with someone the first time you meet? It happens with dogs too! Celia didn’t particularly pay attention to the other dogs at the park, but she LOVED this little puppy! She was gentle with him, but that puppy could sure hold his own when they were playing πŸ˜‰ He didn’t back down even when Viva joined in the fun and it was 2 against 1! It was so fun to see this 10 year old dog bonding with a 10 month old puppy!

If you saw Viva at Tamar Park, you wouldn’t be able to guess that she is a rather timid dog at kennels! She was all over the park that day, greeting two legged and four legged friends alike. To be honest, she became a little rambunctious puppy! Hahaha. But she responds very well to her name and listens well. Viva is only 4 years old and is waiting for someone to give her a chance!

Pip was the calm one as usual. Always hopeful for a treat, he just followed people around the park haha. This chubby boy really needs to go on a diet though! XD So he wasn’t able to get very many treats. Luckily he didn’t seem too disappointed and was happy to just let people pet him πŸ™‚

By the end of the afternoon, Celia and Pip were ready to fall asleep on their feet haha. Time to go home!

This weekend is Christmas already! We will be at Tamar Park on December 24, so hope to see you there πŸ™‚ Happy holidays everyone!

Playtime to Naptime

After a week off due to the rain (again), we were back at Tamar Park last Saturday with Rocky, Magoo, Norma, and Ovaltine.

When we arrived at the park, we put all our bags down and started unleashing the dogs. As we were settling down, we looked over to see Rocky lying on his back and staring at us expectantly, as if saying, “Well, we’re here! Where’s my belly rub?” Hahaha. Rocky is such a lovable dog, and his favourite thing is definitely belly rubs. In fact, he greets everyone by trotting over, sniffing their hand, and then rolling onto his back πŸ˜› And who can say no to that face?! If you haven’t seen our video, Rocky fell asleep at the park while getting Β a nice belly rub.

At the same time, Rocky has lots of energy and he loves playing in the water, and playing tug. Whoever adopts this wonderful boy will definitely get a lot of play time and cuddles! πŸ™‚

Magoo and Norma are very calm characters who don’t seem fazed by anything. Magoo walked around, politely saying hello to any new dog who arrived at the park, and Norma found a nice spot where she could enjoy massages by anyone who was willing (which was pretty much everyone). Norma will lift her paw for a handshake or gently lay her paw on you when she wants your attention. It’s so adorable! She was so calm that we tried balancing a tennis ball on her head and she barely blinked.

Funny Magoo has a very stern look, but really he’s a big softie. We saw how gently he took a treat from a stranger’s hand, and how polite he was with other dogs. He walked over to this tiny yorkie who froze in place as Magoo towered over him, but Magoo only wanted to say a quick hello.

Ovaltine was a little nervous at first because there were some overly enthusiastic dogs at the park when we arrived, but after they left she relaxed, and would willingly say hello to other dogs. She is a very good-natured girl, and didn’t let the initial scare ruin the rest of her day out! πŸ˜‰

Can you believe that 2016 is almost over? This Saturday we will be going to a Christmas Carnival! The event is at the Hong Lok Yuen Country Club. There will be food, games, and goodies for sale, so go check it out! Your dogs will be welcome too, and the PAWsome team will be there with some HKDR dogs. The carnival will last all weekend so we hope to see you there sometime! Click hereΒ for more information.
