The End of Summer

Even though the weather is still very warm, I suppose summer 2016 is officially over. With that, we had our biggest PAWsome gathering ever! Over 20 people and 20 dogs attended the outing at Penfold Park on September 16. Most of the dogs are still waiting for their forever home at our Tai Po Homing Centre, but we also met some friends who have been adopted or are in foster homes. It was a great day! There are too many photos to post here, so be sure to check out our album on our Facebook page! πŸ™‚

Since our outing was on the day after mid-autumn festival, we thought it would be fun if the dogs gotΒ their own mooncakes πŸ˜› A few volunteers put on their chef’s hats and prepared some dog friendly mooncakes, using ingredients such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, and chicken. I have to say, they turned out amazing! πŸ˜€ Thanks to all the mooncake chefs πŸ™‚

Ben poses with the mooncakes.
Nattie gobbles up her mooncake! Yum yum yum.

Penfold Park is a great place, with lots of grassy areas for the dogs to run around on. Some of the dogs had a great time enjoying their freedom and exploring.

Felix on the loose!
Raven loves to play fetch.
Following the leader.

Rolling in the grass was awesome too!

Others preferred to stay close and rest in the shade, or enjoy a nice massage.

Posy has a happy smile.
Magoo definitely looks relaxed!

Or perhaps to wait for a bit of food to fall their way πŸ˜‰

Norma: Are you going to share some of that?

Thank you to all the volunteers who brought a dog out for this outing. I’m sure they had a great time, and we’re hoping to organize more of these in the future! We are also looking forward to beginning our weekly outings to Tamar Park again, so for all updates and photos, remember to Like and Follow our Facebook page! ❀
